In early 2008 Tristan Campbell (ex-Fine Motor Control) and Jon Sohn (ex-Fire Hydrant) decided to collaborate on music they were writing for their own prospective solo-projects. In 2009, with the additions of Dan Purpura (drums) and David Churchill (keyboards), Divine Hammer was born. The band thrives on defying traditional rock conventions and pushing boundaries sonically and thematically. The result is a conjunction of beauty and dissonance, aggression and pathos.
